Biloxi Sun Herald: U.S. Navy Admiral Retires Early Amid Cartel Strikes

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has announced that U.S. Southern Command commander Admiral Alvin Holsey will retire at the end of the year after serving less than a year in the post. Lawmakers have criticized the decision, citing alleged legal and oversight concerns related to an expanded U.S. campaign of strikes in the Caribbean. A White House authorization reportedly permitting covert CIA lethal operations in Venezuela has also sparked controversy.

Holsey said, “It’s been an honor to serve our nation, the American people and support and defend the Constitution for over 37 years.” He added, “Serving as your commander and deputy for the past 34 months has been a tremendous honor.”

He should stay and refuse to carry out the illegal orders coming from Trump and Hegseth. Otherwise we will end up with a military run by war criminals and nincompoops.
