NBC Boston: ICE agents swarm Lowell gas station, round up workers from vans

A SWAT team was called in alongside ICE and DEA agents, surrounding vans belonging to a roofing company as workers were lined up against a wall

Michael Tabman, a former FBI special agent in charge, said he spent his career working drug interdictions and rarely had to hide his identity from the public or make such a display of force.

“This level of force, and intimidation, and psychological warfare, just doesn’t seem necessary,” he said.

He believes it can be counterproductive, as the immigrant community may make more desperate attempts to evade police.

“The person being arrested should be assured that this is actually a law enforcement operation. We want to reduce the fear, reduce the chance of them fighting back because they fear they’re being kidnapped,” said Tabman.

UPI: Judge Hannah Dugan’s arrest raises questions about jurisdiction, preserving judicial integrity

The arrest and charges against Dugan have sparked concerns about intimidation against judges but Russell Wheeler adds that the presence of deportation agents in the courthouse also creates a chilling effect. Wheeler is a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.

“The question is whether or not they should be searching in the courthouse in the first place,” Wheeler told UPI. “They don’t want ICE agents in the courthouse because people without status are going to be afraid to testify, be witnesses and cooperate with law enforcement.”

Wheeler’s concerns are not limited to immigration-related arrests, though in the current climate that concern is heightened.

“There’s a host of reasons you want to keep the courthouse open, regardless of status,” he said. “It’s the same reason as having a church as a no-arrest zone. That’s a matter of preserving religious freedom. This is a matter, in my view, of preserving the integrity of the judicial process. You don’t do that by creating a system where people are afraid to go to court. You don’t want to discourage people from reporting crimes or providing evidence.”

New York Post: Kristi Noem [Bimbo #2] dodges kicks from migrant suspect as she leads ICE deportation raids in Phoenix

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving wench. Any dirtbag that shoots pet puppies and goats deserves to be kicked around the block and then some.

The Post was there as she dodged kicks from a suspect wearing slip-on shoes and gamely told him, “You’re not scaring me with your Croc.”

Aim better next time, Bubba. She deserves it!

The multi-agency task force — led by Phoenix Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and joined by a coterie of federal law enforcement and immigration agencies — nabbed three illegal immigrant felons with extensive criminal histories.

Wow! 100 law enforcement officers to nab 3 illegal immigrants! What an efficient use of manpower! Not!

But it’s what one expects with Bimbo #2 running the show, when she’s not shooting pet puppies and goats.

Washington Post: Venezuelan couple detained again by ICE after judge ordered their release

Federal immigration authorities on Friday arrested a Venezuelan couple for a second time this month, their lawyer and relatives said, after a federal judge in D.C. ordered their release last week in a case that stemmed from their having illegally crossed the border more than two years ago.

The couple was driving in Suitland, Maryland, with their 4-year-old son when authorities stopped the vehicle and arrested them, said Madhvi Bahl, a volunteer with the group Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid, which had been supporting the family.

They were then taken to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Chantilly, Virginia — the same facility from which they had been released last week.
