Miami Herald: ‘Unprecedented’: Judge Pleads Not Guilty Amid Indictment
Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan faces federal obstruction charges for allegedly assisting undocumented immigrant Eduardo Flores-Ruiz evade arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She was arrested and indicted for concealing an individual from arrest and obstructing justice after she reportedly misled ICE agents during a court hearing. Dugan claimed judicial immunity protects her actions and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In her motion, Dugan’s legal team argues that the prosecution is “virtually unprecedented and entirely unconstitutional,” stating that judicial immunity prevents her prosecution for her courtroom actions.
