Latin Times: Dozens of US Citizens Were Deported by ICE Before Trump Started His Second Term: Report

Multiple administrations have reportedly been deporting U.S. citizens since at least 2015

… a newly released government watchdog report revealed that at least 70 documented U.S. citizens were deported between 2015 and 2020.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) found that toward the end of former President Barack Obama’s second term and throughout President Donald Trump’s first, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 674 possible U.S. citizens, detained 121 and deported at least 70, though the actual numbers may be higher.

“ICE does not know the extent to which its officers are taking enforcement actions against individuals who could be U.S. citizens,” the report revealed.

The problem is systemic, according to Migrant Insider, since “ICE has not implemented a reliable system to track and correct its mistakes.”

The Hill: House Democrats demand answers from [Bimbo #2] Noem on plans for $50M jet

Democrats are demanding answers about a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) plan to purchase a new $50 million jet for Secretary Kristi [Bimbo #2] Noem.

The jet, slotted in as a line item to the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) budget, comes as the department argues its current plane is beyond its operational usage hours.

“Reports indicate this jet would cost $50 million and replace one of the two Gulfstream jets already at your disposal. Funding the acquisition of this new jet would come at the cost of other USCG investments, including sorely needed modernization of the USCG’s aging aircraft fleet used by service members for search and rescue and other critical missions,” Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) wrote in a letter to [Bimbo #2] Noem alongside Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.).

Both Democrats sit on the House Homeland Security panel. Thompson is the panel’s ranking member.

“Simply put, your purchase of a new jet would directly diminish the availability of other USCG aircraft to carry out critical missions,” the two wrote.

Do you honestly think that Bimbo #2 / Rollex Girl cares about anything other than herself?

Talking Points Memo: GAO Makes Official What’s Been Obvious: Trump Admin Is Breaking Impoundment Control Act

The independent agency embedded within the legislative branch that is designed to review federal spending and make recommendations to Congress on cost savings and waste, as well as investigate policy implementation (the real one, not DOGE), has released a new finding that none of us will find surprising.

As part of its 39 different investigations into various actions the Trump administration has taken in the last four months that could qualify as Impoundment Control Act violations, the Government Accountability Office determined this afternoon that the Trump administration has, in fact, done just that.

Big picture, the non-partisan congressional watchdog is expected to issue more rulings in coming months as it works its way through nearly 40 other similar investigations into whether the Trump administration has violated the 51-year-old law in other ways. The Trump White House has already called the GAO finding “wrong” and GAO opinions are, in general, considered nonbinding recommendations to Congress. Such a finding might matter more in an era where congressional Republicans were not already so willing to choke down all of Trump’s DOGE cuts.
