[Bimbo #3] Bondi appeared on Fox News Monday to discuss the federal response, which state officials said had dramatically escalated tensions in the city. Trump has deployed 4,000 National Guard troops to L.A. over the objections of California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who said that in doing so, Trump has created the very conditions he claimed to be solving. Trump ignored pleas to dial down his rhetoric and has instead blasted what he calls a “migrant invasion” and “insurrectionist” protesters.

[Bimbo #3] Bondi faithfully echoed Trump’s hardline messaging on Hannity.

“What we’re going to do is we are going to enforce the law, regardless of what they do,” she said. “Look at it out there, it looks like a Third World country, and it’s not. It’s the United States of America. We are not standing for it.”

If Bimbo #3 were smart (little chance of that) she’d show some leadership and quit being such a suck-up to a king who is soon to be dethroned.

The White House aims to tie the disorder to a show of support for Democrats’ agenda.

President Donald Trump is hoping to turn a crisis into an opportunity by using the Los Angeles protests to persuade on-the-fence GOP lawmakers to back his spending bill.

White House officials and Trump allies believe the optics of the protests could ultimately benefit the president as he seeks funding for the hardline immigration proposals outlined in his “Big, Beautiful Bill,” including expanded deportations of migrants.

“We see the riots in L.A. as laden with political opportunity—a fight between what Republicans say they want vs. the radical left and protesters waving the Mexican flag in front of burning cars—and the Democrats supporting them,” a senior White House adviser told Axios.

Trump also agreed it would be a “great thing” if his border czar, Tom Homan, authorized the arrest of California Gov. Gavin Newsom amid the partisan tensions surrounding the protests.

“I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican—this is a line we cannot cross as a nation. This is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism,” Newsom posted while sharing a clip of Trump’s remarks.

Thousands of people marched for miles Monday night before police declared an unlawful assembly around 10 p.m. A contingent that refused to disperse appeared to resist arrest, and were met with force by San Francisco police, who warned they would deploy chemical agents, batons and projectiles if anyone else tried to flee.

The Los Angeles riots have taken a sinister turn after a man’s body was found on the sidewalk following a night of looting and chaos. Police were called to the scene near a looted T-Mobile shortly after 1:30 a.m., where they discovered his body. An LAPD spokesperson said they are investigating the matter and it is unclear if his death was related to protest activity.

On Monday, a mystery donor was caught on camera passing out gas masks and riot shields from her Ford F-150 to protesters in the streets as the National Guard was stationed nearby.

California Democrat Adam Schiff also accused Trump of wanting a reason to justify martial law in the region. The president lobbed several attacks against Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass on his Truth Social on Sunday night.

The Marines with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division will work with the roughly 2,100 National Guard troops on the ground to protect federal property and personnel, including federal immigration agents, U.S. Northern Command says.

The troops have been trained in de-escalation, crowd control and standing rules for the use of force, and they will be armed with the weapons they normally carry.

Activists plan more events Tuesday in New York, Chicago, Dallas and Atlanta.

The protests that roiled Los Angeles over the weekend were set to spread Tuesday across the country, as activists planned demonstrations in New York, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta and elsewhere.

Rallies protesting ICE raids and the government’s immigration policies have spread across California and beyond this week. A series of so-called No Kings demonstrations are planned nationwide for Saturday.

NBC News counted at least 25 rallies and demonstrations coast to coast. Some of them involved only a few dozen participants, while others attracted thousands to make a stand against the detention and removal of suspected undocumented migrants.

Many protesters across the country were trade unionists calling for the release of SEIU California President David Huerta, who was arrested on Friday.

In a directive Saturday, Trump invoked a legal provision allowing him to deploy federal service members when there is ”a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.”

Across this vast metropolis, residents denounce what they consider an attack on the very fabric of their city — on their neighbors, co-workers, family members.

This was already a city on edge. First, a series of immigration raids sent waves of fear through one of the nation’s largest undocumented communities and triggered protests. Then President Donald Trump circumvented state leadership to deploy the National Guard here, sparking more unrest that at times turned into violent confrontations.

The foreboding only intensified Monday, when Trump applauded the idea of arresting California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), followed by the mobilization of hundreds of active-duty Marines to augment the Guard members already in Los Angeles.

In a city that has increasingly found itself in the crosshairs of the federal government, the turmoil can feel personal. Local leaders accuse the Trump administration of ginning up a crisis for political gain, and Angelenos from across this vast metropolis denounce what they consider an attack on the very fabric of the city.
