Newsom alleges Fox News defamed him by calling him a liar when he denied speaking with President Donald Trump on June 9.

Around that time, Trump had sent National Guard troops to Los Angeles over Newsom’s objections. Demonstrators had held protests around the city in opposition to the president’s immigration policies.

At a press conference on June 10, Trump said he spoke to Newsom “a day ago.”

In fact, Newsom says, they spoke for 16 minutes around midnight on June 7 Eastern time (or June 6 Pacific time), the day Trump first sent the troops.

Newsom posted phone records on social media showing the timing of their call. But his lawsuit says Fox News host John Roberts misled readers about the timing in his own social media posts, anyway. The lawsuit also says Jesse Watters, a Fox opinion host, falsely called him a liar.

“Why would Newsom lie and claim Trump never called him? Why would he do that?” Watters said, according to the suit.

The chyron on the screen at the time read “Gavin lied about Trump’s call,” the lawsuit says.

Daily Beast: Judge Embarrasses Stephen Miller in High-Profile Court Ruling

A judge has shut down arguments pushed by the Trump administration and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller in a ruling surrounding the high-profile case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

Tennessee Magistrate Barbara Holmes ruled Sunday that Abrego Garcia is not the dangerous gang member Trump allies like Miller and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem have repeatedly claimed he is.

Abrego Garcia is pending trial on human smuggling charges for allegedly transporting undocumented migrants within the U.S. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In March, the Trump administration admitted to mistakenly deporting Abrego Garcia to El Salvador. The Supreme Court ordered them to facilitate his return to the United States.

In her 51-page report, Holmes disputed claims made by the U.S. government that Abrego Garcia was a member of international crime gang MS-13.

President Donald Trump‘s most favorable pollster has warned that it could be “all over for MAGA” if the president gets the United States more deeply involved in the conflict between Iran and Israel.

“Kiss the Republican majority goodbye… For the next decade,” Rich Baris, the director of Big Data Poll, wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “If he pulls the trigger, it’s all over for MAGA.”

I seriously doubt that Trump has the brains to step back from brink. On the plus side, perhaps we’ll be rid of him sooner than 2029.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem [Bimbo #2] called for the congressional lawmakers involved in a heated confrontation with law enforcement outside a Newark immigration detention center to be censured.

“What happened last Friday was we had members of Congress assaulting law enforcement officers,” Noem [Bimbo #2] said TUESDAY of the chaotic scene that unfolded last week outside the Delaney Hall Detention Center, during an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters.
