Cory Bowman says he wants to be mayor of Cincinnati. He might have other things in mind.

A lonely microphone and an empty chair sat at the end of a long, yellow cloth-draped table where Vice President JD Vance’s half-brother, Cory Bowman, should have been sitting. If Bowman had been there, it would have been one of a handful of key appearances ahead of the first election for potentially the first role of his nascent political career: Cincinnati mayor.

It was a Tuesday night in April inside a community center, where the local NAACP chapter was holding the second and final debate ahead of the May 6 mayoral primary. And Bowman, a local evangelical pastor, coffee shop owner and the first Republican to file to run for mayor here in 16 years, was nowhere to be found.

President Donald Trump’s decision to oust National Security Adviser Mike Waltz this week came after months of growing tension, according to a report published Saturday by The Washington Post.

While Waltz’s inadvertent addition of a journalist to a Signal group chat discussing military plans reportedly triggered the final decision, two sources told the Post that Trump had been frustrated with Waltz over foreign policy for months.

Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) admitted many businesses in his state will be closing up shop soon if President Donald Trump’s tariffs don’t “change.”

On Saturday, Bacon said car dealers and other businesses are telling him prices will need to go much higher as there is no time to fulfill demands that were previously not met within the United States. Many car manufacturers also rely on certain components from overseas while they actually build the cars here.

He said:

When I talk to car dealers here in Omaha, they say if these tariffs aren’t revised, the average person is going to pay $5000 more to buy an American car, let along a foreign made car. But an American car will cost that much more because a lot of our parts come from all over the world. We’ve got globally sourced manufacturing for cars and many other things. I have many businesses, just like Josh is saying, they’re probably gonna go out of business if this doesn’t change soon. One gentleman, he has his whole store’s Christmas lights. It’s one of the best Christmas lights stores you’ll ever see. But all of those lights comes from China, so he doesn’t have time to find other sources.

Daily Mail: Former FBI assistant director makes wild claim about Kash Patel’s party animal persona

Former assistant director of the FBI, Frank Figliuzzi, levied a wild accusation about Kash Patel, claiming that the current FBI boss spends more time out clubbing than he does at work. 

‘Reportedly, he’s been visible at nightclubs far more than he has been on the seventh floor of the Hoover building,’ Figliuzzi said on Friday’s episode of MSNBC’s Morning Joe. 

Figliuzzi was the assistant director for counterintelligence at the FBI after serving as a special agent for 25 years.

Figliuzzi said Patel frequents nightclubs more than he does the seventh floor of the Hoover building, where the FBI offices are located. 

‘And there are reports that daily briefings to him have been changed from every day to maybe twice weekly,’ he added. 

Figliuzzi explained that Patel’s absence is a ‘blessing and a curse,’ due to his lack of experience in the field.

Trump said on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” that he’s following lawyers’ advice as he tries to execute rapid deportations, arguing that giving immigrants due process is time-consuming.

President Donald Trump argued in an interview with NBC News’ “Meet the Press” that fulfilling his ambitious campaign promise to rapidly carry out mass deportations may take precedence over giving immigrants the right to due process under the Constitution, as required by courts.

A central part of Trump’s agenda has been implementing the “largest deportation operation” in U.S. history, as he vowed during the 2024 campaign. In service of that goal, his administration has pressed the courts to allow the immediate removal of immigrants it accuses of being members of a Venezuelan gang, without giving them a chance to plead their case before a judge.

In an interview last month with “Meet the Press,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “Yes, of course,” when asked whether every person in the United States is entitled to due process.

Trump, however, isn’t so sure.

Does he remember his Oath of Office? Did he understand it when he took the Oath? What a total dufus!!!

Republicans in Congress are running into a brick wall when trying to pitch a 10-year extension of President Donald Trump’s 2017 tax cuts to their constituents back home.

That’s according to a Friday article in Politico, which reported that senators are coming up short when trying to convince voters of the benefits of tax cuts that are expected to blow a $4.6 trillion hole in the budget. Senate Republicans running for reelection in next year’s midterms are particularly concerned about how to win over home state voters to another decade of tax cuts that have been widely criticized as being “skewed to the rich.”

The current tariff situation is complex, with the United States imposing a 145% tariff on Chinese imports, to which China has retaliated with a 125% tariff on U.S. exports. While items like smartphones and semiconductors enjoy a temporary exemption, a general 20% tariff remains in effect.

Referring to the 145% tariff, Trump described it as “very high” and stated that “it won’t be that high.” He added, “It won’t be anywhere near that high. It will decrease substantially.” However, the president was adamant in denying a return to the previous situation:

“But it won’t be zero – it used to be zero. We were just being destroyed. China was taking us for a ride.”

With this statement, Trump categorically denies the possibility of completely eliminating tariffs.

Executive summary: I’m Donald Trump. I’m big, dumb, and stupid. I don’t really know what the tariffs are. We’re taking China for a ride and crashing ourselves in the process. Life was good, but I’m fixing that.

The White House has announced the largest cut to NASA‘s budget in its history.

The Trump administration has slashed research funding, terminated multiple missions and allocated $1 billion toward Elon Musk‘s dream of sending humans to Mars. 

The $6 billion cuts include scrapping the Mars Sample Return (MSR) mission, which has already cost NASA billions and aimed to bring samples collected from the Martian surface back to Earth to be studied. 

More payola for his chum F’Elon Musk and a $1,000,000,000 appropriation by fiat & bypassing Congress. Only Congress can legally authorize such expenditures.

The sheer corruption continues unabated in plain sight.

President Donald Trump’s remodeling of the Oval Office, which includes a vast amount of gold fixtures covering everything from portraits to curtain rods to even the ceiling, is being compared to a notorious Middle Eastern dictator who was famously a big fan of gold.

Users on X responded to a picture of the Oval Office saying the decor looked like it was “courtesy of the Sadam Hussein home collection.”

Trump has long been compared to many dictators around the world, in more ways than just his choice of decor. He famously said during his campaign for president that if elected he’d be a “dictator on day one.”
