Tag24 News: South Park claps back after Homeland Security uses their art style to recruit ICE agents

The hit satirical show South Park recently responded after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) used an image from the show to recruit Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

On Tuesday, South Park shared an X post teasing an upcoming episode, which appears to show Mr. Mackay, a teacher at South Park Elementary, working as an ICE agent after losing his job – and posing with a character that resembles DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.

Hours later, DHS shared a post of an image of ICE agents drawn in the iconic South Park animation style, along with a link to a recruitment website.

In response, the South Park team shared the DHS post, along wThe back and forth comes as the show has received increased media attention after airing the season premiere of their 27th season last week, which heavily mocked President Donald Trump on a number of issues.

The White House reacted by claiming the show hasn’t been “relevant for over 20 years,” and the episode was “a desperate attempt for attention.”

DHS seems to be taking a different strategy – in a statement to Newsweek, the agency thanked South Park for “drawing attention” to ICE recruitment with the new episode, which will air Wednesday night.ith the caption, “Wait, so we ARE relevant?” and “#eatabagofd***s.”

“We are calling on patriotic Americans to help us remove murderers, gang members, pedophiles, and other violent criminals from our country,” DHS added.

On Monday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi [Bimbo #2] Noem shared an X post that included a clip from a CNN segment about the ICEBlock app, which creator Joshua Aaron told the network was created not to target agents, but rather to allow users to “avoid them altogether.”

“This sure looks like obstruction of justice,” [Bimbo #2] Noem wrote in her post.

It’s no different than holding up a sign that says “speed trap ahead” or “roadblock in half a mile” — it’s constitutionally protected free speech.

And when your Gestapo goons are snatching people off the streets based on their skin color, it’s a matter of self-preservation and self-defense. We are not lemmings.

“Our brave ICE law enforcement face a 500% increase in assaults against them,” she went on to claim, without providing evidence.

Who the fuck cares what happens to masked Gestapo thugs indiscriminately snatching brown people (including U.S. citizens) off the streets to meet their arrest quotas? Fuck ’em!

A recent report found that current Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi [Bimbo #2] Noem once accepted payment from a dark money group during her time as governor, raising concerns over possible violation of ethics requirements.

According to the report from ProPublica, while Noem was serving as governor of South Dakota in 2023, she received a payment of $80,000 from the dark money political group American Resolve Policy Fund (ARPF), which was funneled to her personal company Ashwood Strategies.

But when it came time to file her annual income disclosure form after President Donald Trump appointed her head of DHS, she chose not to include the payment.

While it’s not unusual for a politician to work with nonprofits and other groups to raise funds to assist their political efforts, it is unusual for one to take a cut for themselves – and even more questionable for them not to report it.

Several experts told ProPublica that Noem’s actions are “a likely violation of ethics requirements,” and critics on social media have called it clear signs of corruption.

On May 5, 19-year-old Ximena Arias-Cristobal of Dalton, Georgia, was stopped by police and charged with allegedly making an illegal right turn at a red light and driving without a valid license.

Though the charges were dropped after local police admitted to pulling over the wrong car, it was discovered Arias-Cristobal was in the country without documentation, and she was sent to a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Lumpkin, Georgia.

During an interview with Chattanooga Local 3 News on Thursday, MTG was asked to respond to a critic who argued the US should not kick people out who are “living productive lives.”

“The law is the law, and we don’t get to pick and choose who gets to break the law and who gets to follow the law,” Greene said. “It’s important for us to uphold the law, and that’s the most important thing that we can do, and our government can do.”

The congresswoman went on to say Arias-Cristobal, who was brought to the US from Mexico when she was four, was lucky to grow up in such a “great area,” but admonished her parents for not pursuing a proper path to citizenship for her – even though Congress has repeatedly obstructed efforts toward creating a pathway to citizenship for many immigrants.

Poor Muskie just doesn’t seem to understand the concept of a popular movement. Nobody elected this creep in the first place. Most Americans just want him GONE to somewhere, anywhere!

According to CNN, Saturday marked a “global day of action” for the Tesla Takeover movement, which planned over 200 demonstrations at Tesla locations across the US and 300 more around the world.

In response, Musk spent his Sunday sharing reactions and memes on social media, insisting that Democrats are trying to “destroy my influence” by pushing “negative propaganda about me like the fake Nazi stuff.”

“Sure is insanely ironic that the people shooting bullets into Tesla stores, burning down cars, and generally being violent are calling me a Nazi when I have done literally zero violence at all,” Musk shared in one post.

In recent weeks, Tesla has been the target of protests and acts of vandalism. In some cases, activists have set fire to Tesla vehicles.

Protesters have taken issue with Musk’s role as head of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which he has used to slash government jobs and dismantle agencies.

Musk also claimed in his posts that the protesters were being paid, and those who are funding them need to be taken care of.
