Raw Story: Pete Hegseth deploys troops to several states for ICE support

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered 700 military personnel to be deployed to Florida, Louisiana, and Texas for deportation operations.

In a statement on Tuesday, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said the troops would support U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“These service members, drawn from all components and operating in a Title 10 duty status, will provide logistical support, and conduct administrative and clerical functions associated with the processing of illegal aliens at ICE detention facilities,” Parnell said. “They will not directly participate in law enforcement activities.”

Newsweek: ICE deports Army sergeant’s wife—”They’re taking Shirly”

The wife of a U.S. Army sergeant was detained in March by federal immigration agents outside her workplace in Texas before being deported to Honduras last month.

This case, first highlighted by the nonprofit military news outlet The War Horse, highlights the impact of immigration enforcement on U.S. military families, which lack guaranteed protection from detention or deportation. According to the advocacy group Fwd.us, as many as 80,000 undocumented spouses or parents of military personnel may currently reside in the United States.

Military Parole in Place is a discretionary program that allows undocumented spouses, parents, or children of U.S. military members—including active-duty, Selected Reserve, or honorably discharged veterans—to remain in the country temporarily and avoid deportation. It also provides a lawful entry record (“parole”) that can help eligible individuals apply for a green card without leaving the U.S.

Guardado entered the U.S. without authorization in 2014 at age 16. She was apprehended at the border and issued an expedited removal order. After later marrying Correa, she sought legal residency through a process available to immediate relatives of active-duty service members.

According to Mother Jones and FOX 26 Houston, Correa’s petition was approved in 2023 by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), but the existing removal order complicated the case.

On March 13, 2025, Guardado was asked to step outside her office by individuals identifying themselves as Department of Public Safety officers. She was instead detained by ICE and transported to a detention facility in Conroe, Texas. Correa was not immediately notified and only learned her location after three days, when Guardado contacted him from detention.

Washington Post: Many here wanted Trump to enforce immigration law, but ‘it’s going overboard’

Interviews with more than four dozen people in this swing region encompassing northern Los Angeles County show how much tactics matter in the immigration debate.

Jesus Martinez, a 36-year-old aerospace worker, said he initially supported President Donald Trump’s decision to send the military to quell immigration protests in California. But he has grown increasingly uneasy after seeing images of ICE raids near schools and at workplaces where families are being separated.

“It’s going overboard. It’s too much,” said Martinez, a former Democrat who supported Trump in 2020 and sat out the 2024 election.

“They said only criminals, and now they’re saying, ‘Well, they did come in illegally, so they are criminals,’” he added. “Hispanics or Latinos that voted for Trump, they didn’t think he was going to go after kids.”

In this working-class and heavily Latino area known for its wildflower blooms, a region that moved toward Trump in the 2024 election, voters from both parties voiced support for Trump’s promises to deport immigrants who are here illegally, especially those with criminal records. But they drew lines — some over the scope of those deportations and, to a lesser extent, over his decision to crack down on immigration protesters with the military.

“When you already have aggressive people and then you’re sending in people like that, I feel like it just makes it kind of worse,” said Christian Strand, a 19-year-old EMT from Palmdale, a majority-Latino city, referring to the deployment of National Guard troops and Marines. “It’s creating more of a pushback, because the aggression is rising.”

Rolling Stone: Mike Lindell Declares Victory After Crushing Trial Defeat

The MyPillow exec owes millions for defaming a former Dominion Voting Systems executive; Lindell calls it an “awesome win.”

On Monday evening, MyPillow CEO and Donald Trump ally Mike Lindell texted Rolling Stone: “Awesome win! MyPillow 100% innocent!!!!”

It was an odd moment to be taking a victory lap. Moments earlier, a jury ruled that Lindell had defamed a former Dominion Voting Systems executive named Eric Coomer on two occasions, including by calling him a traitor, and ordered Lindell to fork over $2.3 million in damages.

Another shining example of how you can’t fix stupid!

Mirror: Trump removes Martin Luther King bust from White House in latest disrespectful move

Donald Trump has removed Dr Martin Luther King’s bust from the oval office as the president continues to host a right wing “activist” who labelled the Civil Rights Act of 1964 a “huge mistake”.

The tribute to the iconic “I have a dream” speech maker that sat front and centre during Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s presidencies has been re-shuffled to Trump’s private dining room, according to Black Press USA. It comes after the controversy over the unseen MLK files.

Mirror: JD Vance announces Trump ready to take ‘further action’ to stop Iran as VP breaks silence on rising tensions

Vice President JD Vance has broken his silence in a lengthy post on the social media site X over the mounting tensions between Iran and Israel

“That decision ultimately belongs to the president. And of course, people are right to be worried about foreign entanglement after the last 25 years of idiotic foreign policy,” Vance concluded. “But I believe the president has earned some trust on this issue. And having seen this up close and personal, I can assure you that he is only interested in using the American military to accomplish the American people’s goals. Whatever he does, that is his focus.”

The statement by Vance comes after Trump ordered 10 million residents of Tehran, Iran to “evacuate immediately.” It comes after the president left the G7 summit in Canada in order to work on a peace deal with Iran and Israel who have begun exchanging missiles.

Only the most arrogant of assholes would take 16% as a mandate!

Praising Trump’s actions, Vance stated that he has seen Trump show “remarkable restraint in keeping our military’s focus on protecting our troops and protecting our citizens.” According to Vance, Trump “may decide he needs to take further action to end Iranian enrichment.”

Just remember — 16% is not a mandate! This will be the end of reign of King Donald.

Mediaite: ‘Callous and Horrifying’: Trump Slammed For Urgent Call to Evacuate City of 10 Million People With No Explanation

President Donald Trump sparked a wave of anger on Monday evening when he posted a cryptic message on social media urging the residents of Tehran to evacuate immediately.

“Iran should have signed the “deal” I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!” Trump posted to his Truth Social account as news broke that he was leaving the G7 summit in Canada early.

The White House’s official account on X also shared the message, which led to a bevy of speculation as to its meaning – with many pundits and observers questioning if it was a threat of U.S. military action against Iran or simply typical Trump bluster.

This is grossly irresponsible!

What does our Asshole-in-Chief plan to do to a city of 10 million people?
