Wall Street Journal: Hegseth Brought His Wife to Sensitive Meetings With Foreign Military Officials

Defense secretary’s handling of sensitive information is under fire after he shared details about a strike on Houthi militants in a group chat on a widely used app

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who is facing scrutiny over his handling of details of a military strike, brought his wife, a former Fox News producer, to two meetings with foreign military counterparts where sensitive information was discussed, according to multiple people who were present or had knowledge of the discussions.

One of the meetings, a high-level discussion at the Pentagon on March 6 between Hegseth and U.K. Secretary of Defense John Healey, took place at a sensitive moment for the trans-Atlantic alliance, one day after the U.S. said it had cut off military intelligence sharing with Ukraine. The group that met at the Pentagon, which included Adm. Tony Radakin, the head of the U.K.’s armed forces, discussed the U.S. rationale behind that decision, as well as future military collaboration between the two allies, according to people familiar with the meeting.

Jennifer Hegseth also attended a meeting last month at North Atlantic Treaty Organization headquarters in Brussels where allied defense officials discussed their support for Ukraine, according to two people who attended the meeting. Hegseth’s brother Philip Hegseth has also been traveling with him on official visits, the Pentagon said.

Defense One: Space Force may use SpaceX satellites instead of developing its own, senator says

The satellites in question are part of the data transport layer of the Space Development Agency’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.

More shameless corruption benefitting Musk:

The Air Force may cancel the development of hundreds of Space Development Agency satellites and give the work to SpaceX, one senator said Thursday—a move that would shut out other companies hoping to bid.

The satellites in question are part of the data transport layer of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, a planned network of hundreds of satellites in low Earth orbit.

Cutting these bids “means maybe eight, or more, small-, mid-sized companies would not be allowed to bid,” Cramer said.

People: FDA’s Top Vaccine Scientist Resigns Due to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s ‘Misinformation and Lies’

Dr. Peter Marks, one of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) top vaccine officials, has resigned.

In a resignation letter dated Friday, March 28, which was obtained by KFF reporter Stephanie Armour and shared on X, Marks cited the work done by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as one of the reasons for his resignation.

“It has become clear that truth and transparency are not desired by the Secretary, but rather he wishes subservient confirmation of his misinformation and lies,” the physician wrote.

Irish Star: True meaning behind [Bimbo #1] Karoline Leavitt’s nickname as White House press secretary clashes with reporters

[Bimbo #1] Karoline Leavitt has been living up to a new nickname she was given following her first White House press briefing as she’s accused of making a disgraceful attempt to spin the Trump administration’s Signal group chat scandal.

The White House press secretary – who recently showed off what a day in her life looks like – was first dubbed the “spinmeister” by CNN back in January as she was accused of spinning information about a pause on federal grants and loans when she said payments for Social Security, Medicare and food stamps would not be affected but didn’t say what would happen to nonprofit programs like Meals on Wheels.

“It’s a classic spinmeister tactic saying I answered that when you haven’t answered it and apparently can’t answer it right away,” CNN’s fact-checker Daniel Dale said.

But the 27-year-old’s latest spin attempt has backfired as she now appears to have made a spectacular U-turn after critics accused her of lying. After The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg was accidentally added to a Signal messaging app group in which top government officials discussed plans for strikes in Yemen, Leavitt attempted to change the narrative.

During a fiery White House briefing on Wednesday the press secretary told reporters: “If this story proves anything, it proves that Democrats and their propagandists in the mainstream media know how to fabricate, orchestrate, and disseminate a misinformation campaign quite well.”

She called Goldberg’s piece a “sensationalized story from the failing Atlantic magazine” while attempting to smear the reporter and doubling down on claims that no classified information was leaked.

Leavitt snapped at CNN’s Kaitlin Collins when asked about the ongoing scandal before abruptly cutting the volatile press conference short.

Donald Trump’s press secretary appeared to crumble under pressure following repeated questions on the government’s leaked war plans

White House Press Secretary [Bimbo #1] Karoline Leavitt unexpectedly ended a news conference Wednesday after fielding tough questions about the government Houthi attack plan leak.

Leavitt, who gave a surprise glimpse into her family life, lost her temper and snapped at CNN’s Kaitlan Collins during the volatile press conference.

Leavitt went on to highlight other efforts, such as honoring veterans and women, before going on to slam the media for focusing its attention on the government Houthi group chat story published in The Atlantic.

In the scoop, the magazine’s editor-in-chief Jeffery Goldberg revealed that he was accidentally added to a chat on the app Signal where top administrators were discussing a strike on the Houthis in Yemen, including screenshots of messages with some of their attack plans. Among those in the chat included Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz and Vice President JD Vance.

Leavitt slammed the piece as a “sensationalized story from the failing Atlantic magazine” while attempting to smear the reporter and doubling-down on claims that no classified information was leaked. She also said that Waltz, who added Goldberg, took responsibility for the incident and claimed an investigation into the matter was underway.

“If the story proves anything, it proves that Democrats and their propagandists in the mainstream media know how to fabricate, orchestrate and disseminate a misinformation campaign quite well,” Leavitt said.

She went on to accuse Goldberg, who has previously been critical of the president, of being an “anti-Trump hater” and a “registered Democrat.” Goldberg, 59, has interviewed high-profile political figures including Barack Obama and supported the invasion of Iraq over fears of chemical weapons, which Leavitt mentioned in an attempt to discredit the journalist.

Goldberg, who served in the Israel Defense Forces, has previously drawn the ire of Trump after writing a piece ahead of the November election about his alleged affinity for Adolf Hitler, with exclusive insights from top ex-staffers including Gen. John Kelly, Trump’s longest-serving chief of staff.

Money Talks News: 26 Social Security Offices Expected to Close Down by This Fall

The Associated Press (AP) recently obtained an internal planning document from the General Services Administration, which manages federal real estate, that includes the dates on which some of those leases are expected to end. The AP also searched publicly available data to find additional information on these leases.

The publication identified 26 SSA offices that will close in 2025.

This news comes just after the SSA implemented stronger identity verification practices. Beneficiaries must now verify their identity in person before they can change their direct deposit information or claim benefits. Closing SSA locations will make it more difficult for beneficiaries in certain areas to do that.

Alternet: ‘Why do that?’ Fox News host defends ‘decorated veteran’ against Musk’s ‘traitor’ smear

Elon Musk = Surrender Monkey

During a recent visit to Ukraine, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Arizona) expressed his support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and additional U.S. military aid for the war-torn country. But far-right Tesla/Space/X/X.com leader Elon Musk, a close ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, disagreed with Kelly’s position and called him a “traitor.”

Many Democrats are calling Musk out, noting that Kelly is a former U.S. Navy combat pilot. Musk, however, defended his attack on Kelly during a Thursday night, March 27 appearance on Fox News.

Fox News host Bret Baier questioned the wisdom of calling Kelly a “traitor,” asking Musk, “Why do that?”

The billionaire Trump ally responded, “Well, I think somebody should be — should care about the interest of the United States above the interests of another country. And if they don’t, they’re a traitor.”

Baier, however, defended Kelly, telling Musk, “Yes. But he’s a decorated veteran, a former astronaut, a sitting U.S. senator.”

Musk doubled down on his position, accusing Kelly of putting “the interest of another country above America.”

Los Angeles Times: Canadian Prime Minister Carney calls Trump’s auto tariffs a ‘direct attack’ on his country

It’s looking like “no more Mr. Nice Guy” — the Canadians are tiring of King Donald’s childish antics.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said Wednesday that President Trump’s auto tariffs are a “direct attack” on his country and that the trade war is hurting Americans, noting that American consumer confidence is at a multi-year low.

Trump said earlier Wednesday that he was placing 25% tariffs on auto imports and, to underscore his intention, he stated, “This is permanent.”

“This is a very direct attack,” Carney responded. “We will defend our workers. We will defend our companies. We will defend our country.”

Carney said he needs to see the details of Trump’s executive order before taking retaliatory measures. He called it unjustified and said he will leave the election campaign to go to Ottawa on Thursday to chair his special Cabinet committee on U.S. relations.

Carney earlier announced a CA$2-billion ($1.4-billion) “strategic response fund” that will protect Canadian auto jobs affected by Trump’s tariffs.

Irish Star: ‘Dumb’ Donald Trump is torn apart after crisis phone call with Canadian leader Mark Carney

“I just finished speaking with Prime Minister Mark Carney, of Canada. It was an extremely productive call, we agree on many things, and will be meeting immediately after Canada’s upcoming Election to work on elements of Politics, Business, and all other factors, that will end up being great for both the United States of America and Canada. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The post on Truth Social caused Trump supporters to turn on and criticize the president on X.

“PMs Trudeau and Carney did a masterful job pushing back on Trump’s BS. Minimal pushback to a bully breaks them. Trump looks dumb here bc what was the point of stiffening Canada’s back to begin with? Trump is weak asf,” a user wrote on X.

“President Trump says the call with PM Carney happened. Note the language here, he’s no longer calling the Canadian PM Governor,” another wrote on X.

“Trump is funny cos he spoke with Trudeau without respect and he is like Polite with Carney, even called him Prime Minister. Huge win politically for Carne,” another wrote on X.

“Not the 51st state, any more? I can’t keep up. Carney is a shrewd man. Trump would be wise to remember that,” posted another on the social media site.

“Trump Speaks to PM Mark Carney of Canada Trump calls it an ‘extremely productive’ call No mention of ‘51st State & No Guv Carney’ ( It was only to tease Trudeau) Both will be meeting after elections,” another posted on X.

The call comes after President Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday to bring in a new 25% tariff on finished vehicles imported into the United States next week.

CNN: Old US-Canada relationship is ‘over,’ warns Canadian prime minister

Canada will have to “dramatically reduce” its reliance on the United States as the two countries’ relationship darkens, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney warned on Thursday, adding that the old bilateral relationship was “over.”

After holding a cabinet meeting to discuss Canada’s response to US President Donald Trump’s tariffs threats, Carney told reporters in Ottawa that he foresaw the coming of a “fundamentally different relationship” between the two countries.

“The old relationship we had with the United States based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperation is over,” he said.

“It’s clear the US is no longer a reliable partner. It is possible that with comprehensive negotiations, we could reestablish an element of confidence but there will be no going backwards …

In other words, King Donald, go screw yourself. We’re not playing charades with you any longer.
