Irish Star: Trump’s tacky gold-plated Oval Office compared to heinous dictator’s palace

President Donald Trump’s remodeling of the Oval Office, which includes a vast amount of gold fixtures covering everything from portraits to curtain rods to even the ceiling, is being compared to a notorious Middle Eastern dictator who was famously a big fan of gold.

Users on X responded to a picture of the Oval Office saying the decor looked like it was “courtesy of the Sadam Hussein home collection.”

One user posted comparison photos of Trump’s various properties over the years next to photos of Hussein’s palace writing “There is indeed a strange and remarkable similarity between the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump and the late Iraqi President Saddam Hussein when it comes to luxurious interior designs.”

Trump has long been compared to many dictators around the world, in more ways than just his choice of decor. He famously said during his campaign for president that if elected he’d be a “dictator on day one.”

Wall Street Journal: He’s Held in El Salvador’s Mega-Prison, Without Any Criminal Charges

Carlos Uzcategui’s legal journey to the U.S. put the Venezuelan on a collision course with an ‘unprecedented’ deportation plan

On March 15, Carlos Uzcategui Vielma made a phone call from an immigration detention center in Texas to his partner, Gabriela Mora Méndez, at their home in Venezuela. He told her that he thought he would be deported home to Venezuela that day. This was good news—Carlos had been in immigration detention for more than three months.

But Uzcategui never arrived. It wasn’t until Mora recognized Uzcategui in images circulating on social media, showing men with shaved heads surrounded by armed guards, that she realized he was being held in El Salvador’s maximum-security prison.

Independent: Even El Salvador’s president questioned Trump team on if migrants being sent were actually gang members: report

El Salvador’s Nayib Bukele privately ‘expressed concern’ about who the Trump administration sent to El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center, according to the report

El Salvador President Nayib Bukele asked the Trump administration for evidence that the 238 Venezuelans deported to his country’s maximum-security prison last month were actually part of a notorious gang, according to a report.

While Bukele and President Donald Trump appeared to be on the same page at last month’s meeting in the Oval Office, Bukele privately “expressed concern” about who the Trump administration sent to El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center, known as CECOT, according to The New York Times.

Bukele’s concern sparked a “scramble” among U.S. officials to get him evidence that the migrants belonged to the transnational Tren de Aragua gang, The Times reported.

Daily Mail: ICE Barbie Kristi Noem [Bimbo #2] and Homeland Security advisor Corey Lewandowski’s cozy DC living arrangement revealed

‘Don’t forget DC is a small town and people talk. It is an open secret that they are together.

‘It has always been joked about that Navy Yard is a dorm for Hill Republicans and Trump staffers – now it’s even higher up, with married cabinet secretaries bunking their volunteer chiefs.

‘Keeping the Homeland “secure”, or at least pretending to, is now 24/7 I suppose.’

Mom-of-three Noem [Bimbo #2], 53, invited her kids and grandchildren to DC over the Easter weekend when she made international headlines for having her purse snatched as they ate at a burger bar.

Only days later, DailyMail.com spotted former Trump campaign manager Lewandowski walking back and forth between their two residences, set among artisan coffee shops, bars, and chic waterfront restaurants.

On one occasion the veteran lobbyist emerged from Noem’s [Bimbo #2] apartment complex in his trademark suit, necktie and US flag pin and climbed into an Uber.

The next evening Lewandowski walked out clutching a duffel bag, crossed the street where a Secret Service detail is parked up 24/7 and headed inside his own building.

Noem [Bimbo #2] was the Republican Governor of South Dakota and a rising MAGA star when DailyMail.com first disclosed details of their years-long, clandestine affair in September 2023.

Dad-of-four Lewandowski wouldn’t comment while Noem [Bimbo #2] – married to her insurance exec husband Bryon for the past 33 years – denied the fling.

A DailyMail.com source insisted this week, however: ‘There’s no question the relationship is ongoing.

‘They continue to travel together, they continue to socialize together. Very clearly, they’re still having an extra-marital relationship.’

Raleigh News & Observer: Dershowitz Predicts Supreme Court Will Reject Trump Plan

President Donald Trump recently pushed for the deportation of American-born criminals and expansion of detention facilities in El Salvador. CNN: Trump admin proposed sending up to 500 alleged Venezuelan gang members during negotiations to use El Salvador’s mega-prison

The United States proposed sending up to 500 Venezuelan migrants with alleged ties to the Tren de Aragua gang to El Salvador as the two governments sought to reach an agreement on the use of the Central American nation’s notorious mega-prison, according to emails seen by CNN.

“These people are being thrown out of the country because of tattoos,” Judge Alvin Hellerstein said in court last Tuesday. “There is nothing in this statute or proclamation that authorizes the United States of America to hire a jail in a foreign country for people could be subjected to cruel and unusual punishment not allowable in the United States jails.”

Kansas City Star: Trump Insults CNN Reporter For ‘Hating’ America

President Donald Trump met with El Salvador President Nayib Bukele in the Oval Office to discuss Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national wrongly deported to El Salvador’s CECO prison complex. The administration called Abrego Garcia’s removal an administrative error. A Supreme Court ruling declared his deportation illegal and ordered the administration to help him return to the U.S.

During the meeting, CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins asked both leaders about the process for Abrego Garcia’s return. When Collins pressed for details, Trump shifted focus to insult her, calling her “low-rated” and saying CNN “hates our country.”

Mediaite: ‘Shame on You!’ Karoline Leavitt [Bimbo #1] Scolds Reporter Over Question About White House’s Own Deportation Guidance

Andrew Feinberg, the White House correspondent for The Independent, went back and forth with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt [Bimbo #1] Monday about criteria DHS uses to classify illegal migrants as foreign combatants.

Leavitt shouted, “Shame on you!” at Feinberg at one point after he noted some migrants can be classified as members of the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua and become eligible for deportation to El Salvador under the Alien Enemies Act over symbols in their tattoos and their clothing.

The White House press secretary disagreed with Feinberg, who cited the federal government’s own documents on the matter.

Feinberg said, “You can get classified [as Tren de Aragua] by simply having certain symbols in your tattoos and wearing certain streetwear brands. That alone is enough to get someone classified as TDA and sent to El Salvador.”

Leavitt [Bimbo #1] fired back, “That’s not true, actually, Andrew.”

Feinberg attempted to read from a DHS document laying out how immigration authorities confirm Tren de Aragua affiliations as he and Leavitt spoke over one another.

When the reporter noted that he had a question about the process, Leavitt replied, “Shame on you! And shame on the mainstream media for trying to cover for these individuals! This is a vicious gang, Andrew.”

ACLU: There’s No Evidence I’m in a Gang — Because I’m Not. But I’ve Been Locked Up for Two Months for Gang Membership.

Trump’s Amerika:

One Friday after school last June,I went to play soccer with friends in the park in Brentwood, New York, where I live. I love the soccer fields there. There are lights and grass, and it feels so much nicer and safer than the fields where I used to play. In El Salvador, where I’m originally from, a gun might go off or gang members might grab a player off the field and beat him up.

Walking home with my friend, Juan* around 8 p.m., I felt good. We ran into a kid we knew from school, Andres,* and he joined us. I knew Andres’ face, and I would say, “Hey, what’s up?” when we ran into each other at school, but I didn’t know him well.

As we were walking, Juan and I started to joke around and shove each other, laughing. All of a sudden, we saw a police car pull up. For months, the police had been stopping me frequently and accusing me of being in a gang. Their “evidence” was based on nothing — a doodle they found in my notebook and people I said hello to at school. I had even asked to meet with the police to explain to them that I’m not in a gang.

I don’t belong locked up. I can’t understand why I’ve been in jail for more than two months. I never belonged to a gang. I never hurt anyone. I never threatened anyone. I fled from the gangs in my country. And I thought I was coming to a country where I would be safe.

Wall Street Journal: Trump Administration Must Seek to Return Another Wrongly Deported Man, Judge Rules

A second ruling finds that the government wrongly sent a man to an El Salvador prison under wartime law despite legal protections

A federal judge in Maryland has ordered the Trump administration to facilitate the return of another man who was sent to an El Salvador prison as part of the government’s push to swiftly remove alleged members of a Venezuelan gang.

The man, identified only as Cristian in court documents, was born in Venezuela and came to the U.S. as an unaccompanied minor. He and others who came to the country as children reached a settlement agreement with the government in November that prohibited their removal while their asylum applications were pending.
