Miami Herald: ‘Evil is Powerless’: ICE Official Announces More Arrests

The U.S. Department of Justice has launched a targeted operation focusing on “egregious criminal alien offenders.” The operation is part of the “Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful” program, aiming to improve public safety through enforcement actions. President Donald Trump’s administration emphasized its commitment to reducing crime in the capital, and the latest efforts saw the arrests of 189 undocumented immigrants in Washington, D.C.

Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Washington, D.C. Russell Hott stated that the operation targeted high-crime areas. The action resulted in arrests of individuals allegedly connected to violent criminal organizations, including MS-13 and the 18th Street gang.

And again I have to ask, “How many of these 189 “criminals” were guilty of anything worse than a traffic violation? And how many were actually convicted in a court of law? ICE is all about numbers, not quality or accuracy.

Raw Story: ‘Another loss in court for Trump’ as teenager released from immigration custody

A Georgia teenager who was detained by federal deportation officers has been released from custody on Thursday, according to a CBS News report.

They claim Ximena Arias Cristobal was released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after a judge granted her bond.

The 19-year-old was held at the ICE detention facility in Lumpkin, Georgia, after a traffic stop led to her arrest.

Her Immigration attorney, Dustin Baxter, said she was granted a $1,500 bond, which is the lowest amount allowed by law.

TAG24 NEWS: Marjorie Taylor Greene applauds deportation of college student from her district: “The law is the law!”

On May 5, 19-year-old Ximena Arias-Cristobal of Dalton, Georgia, was stopped by police and charged with allegedly making an illegal right turn at a red light and driving without a valid license.

Though the charges were dropped after local police admitted to pulling over the wrong car, it was discovered Arias-Cristobal was in the country without documentation, and she was sent to a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Lumpkin, Georgia.

During an interview with Chattanooga Local 3 News on Thursday, MTG was asked to respond to a critic who argued the US should not kick people out who are “living productive lives.”

“The law is the law, and we don’t get to pick and choose who gets to break the law and who gets to follow the law,” Greene said. “It’s important for us to uphold the law, and that’s the most important thing that we can do, and our government can do.”

The congresswoman went on to say Arias-Cristobal, who was brought to the US from Mexico when she was four, was lucky to grow up in such a “great area,” but admonished her parents for not pursuing a proper path to citizenship for her – even though Congress has repeatedly obstructed efforts toward creating a pathway to citizenship for many immigrants.

Cruel, heartless bitch!

Reuters: US judge orders Trump administration to facilitate return of Guatemalan deported

A federal judge ordered the Trump administration on Friday to facilitate the return of a gay Guatemalan man who said he was deported to Mexico despite fearing he would be persecuted there, after officials acknlowledged an error in his case.

US District Judge Brian Murphy in Boston issued the order days after the Justice Department notified him that its claim that the man had expressly stated he was not afraid of being sent to Mexico was based on erroneous information.

The Justice Department said last week that upon further investigation, officials were unable to identify any Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who had asked the man, identified as “OCG” about fears he had for his safety.

According to his lawyers, OCG is a gay man who fled Guatemala in 2024 after facing death threats based on his sexuality.

He entered the United States through Mexico in May 2024.

Murphy said that while an immigration judge in February found OCG deserved protection from being returned to Guatemala, authorities two days later wrongly placed him on a bus to Mexico, where he had recently been raped and kidnapped.

Irish Star: US citizen detained by immigration officials who thought Real ID was a fake

Immigration officials detained a US citizen during a raid on a construction site, as video footage showed numerous officers rushing to handcuff the man while others shouted in his defense

A US citizen was detained during an ICE raid at a construction site and claims he was ‘tackled’ and ‘handcuffed, hard,’ as police accused his REAL ID of being a fake.

Leonardo García Venegas, 25, was detained at the Foley, Alabama, site where he was working as ICE agents raided the place. A video of the incident aired by Telemundo showed the scene as authorities on the site had García Venegas bent over while multiple officers rushed over to put handcuffs on him, and someone yelled in the background, ‘he’s a citizen!’

Garcia was kept in a vehicle until officers released him. He says he took out his wallet and ID and showed them his REAL ID.

“They took out my wallet, took out my ID,” he said in an interview. “And they told me it was fake. Said it wasn’t valid and that it was fake. My ID. They handcuffed me, and they handcuffed me really tight.”

“Very hard.”

“Apparently, a REAL ID is not valid anymore. He has a REAL ID,” his cousin Shelah Venegas said.

García Venegas was born in Florida to Mexican parents and is a US citizen.

“We all made sure we have the REAL ID and went through the protocols the administration is asking for….. He has his REAL ID, and then they see him, and I guess because his English isn’t fluent and/or because he’s brown, it’s fake, it’s not real.”

The arrest left Venegas shaken, but mostly afraid for his brother, who is in the country illegally and was arrested and detained.

Venegas says he wants to sue but was told by lawyers that prosecuting a federal agent would be nearly impossible.

Pigs just gotta be pigs. ICE will be reformed only from top down, by rolling heads. Once enough people are fed up with their Gestapo behavior, it will happen.

The Hill: Vance: Courts trying to ‘literally overturn the will of the American people’

Vice-President J.D. [“Dunce”] Vance waded into the tug-of-war between the courts and executive branch in an interview published earlier this week, warning that the courts should pull back or risk stepping on the will of the American people.

How simple can I make this, Bubba?

The Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the courts exist to protect the rights and due process of our people from mob rule. Our rights are inalienable. The will of the people is irrelevant in this context.

How the hell did you ever pass high school civics, let alone earn a law degree? Your apparent stupidity is mindboggling.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram: ‘We Are Not Ignoring the Law’: DHS Responds to Detainments

A 19-year-old college student from Georgia remained in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody following her arrest during a traffic stop. Ximena Arias-Cristobal was detained in Georgia when her dark truck was mistakenly identified as a vehicle linked to an illegal turn. Although all charges against her were dropped after a review of dash cam footage, her immigration status has remained in question. On May 21, she was granted a bond, allowing her release to her family. She reportedly still faces potential deportation to Mexico as ICE has initiated proceedings.

Despite the dismissal of charges, Arias-Cristobal remains in ICE custody, having lived in Whitfield County since she was four. City officials, including the city administrator and prosecuting attorney, have confirmed the error and informed Arias-Cristobal’s legal team.

Knewz: Another U.S. Citizen Mistakenly Told to Self-Deport

Boston immigration attorney Nicole Micheroni received a surprising email last month from the Department of Homeland Security ordering her to self-deport immediately. The email said DHS was ending her parole and told her to leave the country, even though she holds a U.S. passport and birth certificate. Micheroni has held a U.S. passport and birth certificate and has been legally allowed to remain in the country.

Other immigration attorneys have reported receiving similar erroneous notices. Micheroni stated, “It took me a couple of minutes to realize it was sent to me instead of someone I represent.”

These mistaken emails raise concern among U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and visa holders about possible wrongful enforcement. Micheroni said, “It’s meant to be an intimidation tactic to get people to leave the country.”

Newsweek: Harvard graduate self-deports to Mexico

A Harvard graduate has self-deported to Mexico alongside his husband amid fears about President Donald Trump‘s immigration crackdown.

Francisco Hernandez-Corona, 34, and his United States citizen husband, Irving Hernandez-Corona, decided to leave the country because the federal government ramped up immigration enforcement, NBC10 Boston reported.

The couple traveled to Mexico’s west coast, arriving in Puerto Vallarta three weeks ago.

“We started seeing ICE everywhere and people sent to El Salvador,” said Francisco.

“There would be knocks at the door and [Francisco] would be scared and be terrified,” said Irving. “It was never our intention to leave under these circumstances. We left, basically fleeing.”

Francisco came to the U.S. when he was 10, sent by his father to cross the border with the help of a coyote. He described the journey through the desert as “the worst three days of my life,” adding, “Nobody asked me if this is what I want to do. I didn’t have a choice.”

Raleigh News & Observer: More Than 400 ICE Arrests in Border State

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested over 400 illegal immigrants in Houston during a weeklong operation. Among those arrested, more than 260 had prior criminal records. ICE is reportedly using a “hub and spoke” system to speed up removals, allowing for deportation within 24 to 72 hours of arrest.

How many of these 400 have any violations worse than a parking ticket, if even that much? ICE is just doing whatever they can to get their numbers up, regardless of the human cost. They have zero credibility at this point.
