A family railed against health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his “Make America Healthy Again” movement on MSNBC Wednesday after their 10-year-old nearly died from an E. coli infection after consuming contaminated food.
NBC News revealed last month that 89 people across 15 states were sickened in an E. coli outbreak due to romaine lettuce in November, but the Food and Drug Administration — under the auspices of Kennedy — closed its investigation in February and never disclosed vital information to the public.

Raw Story: ‘Lying!’ Karoline [Bimbo #1] Leavitt derided as she claims to ‘debunk’ budget accusations
Social media users railed against Press Secretary Karoline [Bimbo #1] Leavitt for saying the House spending bill, aka “the big, beautiful bill,” will not increase the nation’s deficit.
Independent journalist Aaron Rupar was the first to flag the questionable remarks, uttered at an event Thursday.
“[Bimbo #1] Leavitt: ‘I also want to take the opportunity to debunk some false claims that have been circulating in the press. The blatantly wrong claim that the one big beautiful bill increases the deficit is based on the CBO and other scorekeepers who use shoddy assumptions.’”
Spencer Hakimian told his more than 100,0000 followers on X, “Has there ever been a less intelligent press secretary in U.S. history?”

Raw Story: Trump has a ‘verbal tic’ that is causing ‘a worldview problem’ in US: analysis
President Donald Trump’s “verbal tic” is creating “cognitive dissonance in America,” according to a Washington Post column.
“The verbal tic of President Donald Trump that has always most fascinated me is his predilection for the word ‘beautiful,’” Monica Hesse wrote.
Giving several examples of the usage, she said, “On Trump’s first day back in office, he signed an executive order titled ‘Promoting Beautiful Federal Civic Architecture.’ Golf courses are beautiful, but so are White House telephones, farming, fighter jets, notes from the Chinese president, chocolate cake, the Supreme Court, Harambe the gorilla, and Christians.”.
…
“The Big Beautiful Bill works for Donald Trump because it uses a common, euphonious word to sell a tantalizing concept: that the federal government is simple instead of being a giant, complicated mess,” she said.
Hesse believes Trump is using the phrase because “The Big Beautiful Bill is the One Ring of legislation, the only bill you’ll ever need. ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ is a phrase that could lull you into believing it contained only good things. And it does not.”
Raw Story: ‘Another loss in court for Trump’ as teenager released from immigration custody
A Georgia teenager who was detained by federal deportation officers has been released from custody on Thursday, according to a CBS News report.
They claim Ximena Arias Cristobal was released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after a judge granted her bond.
The 19-year-old was held at the ICE detention facility in Lumpkin, Georgia, after a traffic stop led to her arrest.
Her Immigration attorney, Dustin Baxter, said she was granted a $1,500 bond, which is the lowest amount allowed by law.
Raw Story: ‘Went off the deep end’: Backlash hits sole Republican who demanded Hegseth be fired
Congressman Don Bacon (R-NE) still remains the only GOP lawmaker who called for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to be ousted from his position — and it could be costing him support, according to a Washington Post report.
…
Bacon, a retired Air Force general, has split his constituents with his stance — though he stands firmly outside of his party’s line on Hegseth.
…
Bacon is an Air Force veteran who has previously said his lack of support for Hegseth “had nothing to do with anything political … It’s just what’s right.”
His calls to remove Hegseth began after the secretary used an unclassified messaging app to share “highly sensitive details of a planned U.S. assault on Yemeni militants.” The chat included a journalist and later became known as “Signalgate.”
“I could have forgiven it if he had said, ‘I was wrong and I won’t do it again,’” Bacon said. “People make mistakes.” But instead, Hegseth “tried to deny it was a problem,” and he sought to shift the blame to the journalist, he said.
Raw Story: Pam Bondi fires ‘warning shot’ at free press with ‘most chilling’ guidelines yet: report
“Attorney General Pam Bondi fired a warning shot at the free press last Friday,” according to the Editorial Board of the Washington Post.
They are concerned with the removal of a Justice Department regulation, which limited the government’s ability to see the phone or email records of journalists.
Bondi replaced this guideline with ones they call “most chilling.”
This is because Bondi is allowing investigators to go after members of the media who obtain “privileged and other sensitive information,” not just classified material, “that undermine President [Donald] Trump’s policies.”
The regulations Bondi removed were put in place by Attorney General Garland.
Additionally, the House of Representatives voted unanimously to codify the regulation, which was known as the Press Act (Protect Reporters and Exploitative State Spying Act) last year.
But Trump called on Senate Republicans to kill the bill after his election.
“The effort had bipartisan support because both parties have an interest in exposing wrongdoing inside government, especially when they are in the opposition,” according to the Post.
Raw Story: ‘Nonsense numbers’: Washington Post delivers math lesson to smash Trump claims
As President Donald Trump’s tariffs begin to kick in around the world, The Washington Post analyzed two of his claims: “we were losing $2 billion a day [under President Joe Biden], and “now we’re making $3 billion a day.”
In an analysis, Glenn Kessler wrote, “both the Treasury Department and the data released by Customs and Border Protection show Trump is way off the mark.”
