Irish Star: Trump’s geography gaffe during Zelensky summit sparks fresh dementia fears

As Trump bragged about ending wars, he made a major slip, calling the Democratic Republic of Congo, the “Republic of the Condo”

President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today at the White House, and boasted about his ability to end wars, making one major slip in the process.

The two world leaders met at the White House on Monday afternoon, along with a delegation of European leaders from the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Finland, the European Union, and NATO. The leaders showed up to support Zelensky at the high-stakes meeting that could determine the future of his country. Discussing the possibility of a ceasefire, Trump bragged about his track record of “ending wars.”

“I’ve ended six wars. I thought maybe this would be the easiest one. And it’s not. It’s a tough one,” Trump claimed. It comes amid alarming fears over the president’s health due to an injury being spotted.

As Trump rambled about the wars he has claimed credit for ending, he made a major slip, calling the Democratic Republic of Congo, the “Republic of the Condo.” It comes after the Prime Minister of Italy mocks Trump with a brutal eye roll.

On X, a viewer pointed it out, writing, “Yes, he just said ‘Republic of the Condo.’ Can’t get his mind away from real estate!”

Trump immediately corrected himself, briefly closing his eyes as he gathered his thoughts. The high-stakes meeting, which had many eyes on it, was an opportunity for Trump to shut down rumors that he is experiencing a cognitive decline.

On numerous occasions recently, Trump has slipped up and misspoken, causing viewers to call his mental capacity into question.

Today’s mistake is not the first one Trump has made when speaking about the Congo. He was accused of not knowing anything about the country, after flippantly saying, “many people come from the Congo. I don’t know what that is.”

On X, another user added, “Trump’s Freudian slip “Republic of the Condo” in his press conference reveals his preferred solution to all international conflicts: turn them into luxury resorts!”

Today’s meeting comes just days after President Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader rejected a cease-fire and called on Ukraine to cede land in the country’s east in exchange for a freeze in the front line elsewhere.

Trump and Zelensky’s last meeting in February ended abruptly and without any resolve. The two butted heads and Trump grew impatient with the Ukrainian president, telling him, “You’ve got to be more thankful, because, let me tell you, you don’t have the cards. With us, you have the cards, but without us, you don’t have any cards.”

JD Vance, who called Zelensky ungrateful during their February meeting, was also present today. It comes as Trump lets slip his true feelings about his wife Melania with a gesture at Zelensky showdown.

Irish Star: Trump suffers a ‘senior moment’ after not recognizing athlete standing right next to him

Donald Trump appeared to suffer a senior moment today as he failed to recognize the person he was introducing during a bill singing ceremony.

Today, the president signed an executive order to expand his council on sports, fitness, and nutrition, including the reinstatement of a previously discontinued fitness test for children. He was joined by a number of professional athletes who will be members of the White House sports council. Pro-golfer Bryson DeChambeau will be the chair of the council. Trump introduced each council member with a brief synopsis of their achievements, including Chief Content Officer of WWE, Triple H.

Trump looked directly at Triple H, calling him “an amazing athlete” and his “friend for a long time.” However, Trump then appeared to look around the room for him, forgetting that he was standing right beside him.

Trump also stumbled over his words right before the awkward moment, causing many to believe that he suffered a senile moment. Trump’s cognitive health has been the topic of conversation for several months now.

“Trump looks tired and bloated. I think he is sicker than the White House said a few weeks ago,” someone on X said about the gaffe.

“OMFG. That’s probably the clearest visible evidence I’ve seen that he’s losing it. Yikes!” someone else wrote. “8 seconds from the first time he looked at him to where the hell is he? Dementia is real!” another person commented.

Other members will include Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker and former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor, who is a registered sex offender.

Today’s executive order initiates the revival of the Presidential Fitness Test in public schools. The test, first introduced by President Johnson in 1966, rewards “excellence in physical education,” by anointing children who receive the highest scores with presidential recognition.

President Barack Obama, who has been targeted by Trump in recent weeks, retired the fitness test in 2012, replacing it with the FitnessGram assessment, that focused on bettering individual health.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told CNN in a statement: “President Trump wants every young American to have the opportunity to emphasize healthy, active lifestyles – creating a culture of strength and excellence for years to come.”

The White House said that the test is part of the administration’s goal to develop “bold and innovative fitness goals” for young Americans, in order to foster a new generation of healthy, active individuals.

The changes come as the US prepares to host a number of major sporting events in the coming years, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup followed by the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Memory care beckons!

Irish Star: Irish woman living legally in US for 30 years detained after visit to Ireland

A woman who has been living in the US for more than 30 years was taken into detention by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement after she paid a visit to her sick father in Ireland.

Cliona Ward, 54, went to the US in her early teens and has been residing in Santa Cruz, California, for over three decades. She recently traveled back to Ireland, a country not on the impossible immigration list, with her stepmother to visit her father, who has dementia. Upon her return, Ward was questioned about 20-year-old drug possession convictions that have reportedly been “expunged” under state but not under federal law.

Ward was reportedly released, but when she returned to the airport last Monday to show documentation to officials from US Customs and Border Protection recording how the convictions had been expunged, she was taken into custody just weeks after ICE detain students over visa issues.

According to the enforcement agency’s website, Ward is being held in an ICE facility in Tacoma, Washington state. According to reports, she is due before the courts on May 7th.

CNN captured Trump chatting about the stock market’s response to today’s announcements, to Republican Senator John Barrasso who told the president, “You got the markets seeing your brilliance.”

Trump replied: “Yeah, that’s up almost 7 (percentage) points, 2,500 points, nobody’s ever heard of it. It’s gonna be a record.”

After the braggart caused the largest DECLINE in the stock market in decades: “I f*ck*d it up so badly, but lookie see how it’s recovering!”

Irish Star: Kristi Noem [Bimbo #2] slammed for staggering travel expenses footed by taxpayers

The ICE Princess definitely is a princess!

She previously refused to divulge exactly how much her extensive travel was costing taxpayers. But after assuming her new post, nominated by Trump himself, the number has emerged, and it is shocking.

The Associated Press recently analyzed Noem’s travel records, and determined that she had accrued more than $150,000 in expenses tied to her political and personal activity. The records include several trips to Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump stayed at his Mar-a-Lago resort before taking office.

During Noem’s six years as governor – from 2018 until 2024 – AP found that South Dakota covered more than $640,000 in travel-related costs incurred by the governor’s office.

Some of the trips included $7,555 in airfare for a six-day trip to Paris, where she spoke at a right-wing gathering. It also included a bear hunt in Canada with her niece, and a book tour that involved a stop in New York.

For some of the trips, it was unclear whether it was for professional or personal reasons. One in particular that drew backlash was a $2,200 charge associated with a trip to Houston for dental work, that she showcased on Instagram.

The expenses were officially released last month, following a lawsuit by The Dakota Scout. Since then, several Republican politicians have accused Noem of using state funds to help bolster her own political career.

The Trump administration has been dedicated to tackling waste, fraud, and abuse in government, according to the AP.

Start by firing Bimbo #2 Kristi Noem!

Noem was recently slammed for being “tone deaf” on a trip to a prison in El Salvador, sporting a $50,000 Rolex watch. She also filmed a video inside the prison, with prisoners in crowded conditions in the background.
