The inexperienced 22-year-old reportedly tasked by Donald Trump with tackling U.S. extremism was working as a neighborhood gardener just five years ago and in a grocery store as recently as August 2023, the Daily Beast can reveal.

Thomas Fugate, who graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio just 12 months ago, is currently heading up the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships at the DHS, as first reported by ProPublica Tuesday.

But according to the youngster’s LinkedIn page, Fugate has almost no experience in this field—and in 2020 was working as a self-employed ‘Landscape Business Owner.’

CNBC: NYC mayoral candidate Brad Lander arrested by ICE

New York City Comptroller and Democratic mayoral candidate Brad Lander was arrested Tuesday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents while he was escorting a defendant out of immigration court.

“While escorting a defendant out of immigration court at 26 Federal Plaza, Brad was taken by masked agents and detained by ICE,” Lander’s wife, Meg Barnette, wrote on X.

Lander repeatedly asked the officers to show him a judicial warrant before he is handcuffed, per the video posted by Barnette.

Vice President JD Vance has broken his silence in a lengthy post on the social media site X over the mounting tensions between Iran and Israel

“That decision ultimately belongs to the president. And of course, people are right to be worried about foreign entanglement after the last 25 years of idiotic foreign policy,” Vance concluded. “But I believe the president has earned some trust on this issue. And having seen this up close and personal, I can assure you that he is only interested in using the American military to accomplish the American people’s goals. Whatever he does, that is his focus.”

The statement by Vance comes after Trump ordered 10 million residents of Tehran, Iran to “evacuate immediately.” It comes after the president left the G7 summit in Canada in order to work on a peace deal with Iran and Israel who have begun exchanging missiles.

“I think the governor of Minnesota is so whacked out. I’m not calling,” Trump said. “Why would I call him?”

Katie Miller — a top Trump administration aide who is married to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller — ordered a government agency to lie in an effort to cover up a bogus claim by Elon Musk, according to a blockbuster New York Times report.

According to a piece Monday co-authored by Times reporters Alexandra Berzon, Nicholas Nehamas and Tara Siegel Bernard, employees at the Social Security Administration (SSA) were told to confirm Musk’s claim — made at a rally in March — that 40 percent of all calls to the agency’s service lines were scams.

“The number is 40 percent,” Katie Miller reportedly told the acting Social Security Administrator Leland Dudek in an April 1 call. “Do not contradict the president.”

President Donald Trump sparked a wave of anger on Monday evening when he posted a cryptic message on social media urging the residents of Tehran to evacuate immediately.

“Iran should have signed the “deal” I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!” Trump posted to his Truth Social account as news broke that he was leaving the G7 summit in Canada early.

The White House’s official account on X also shared the message, which led to a bevy of speculation as to its meaning – with many pundits and observers questioning if it was a threat of U.S. military action against Iran or simply typical Trump bluster.

This is grossly irresponsible!

Geraldo Rivera lashed out at his former friend President Donald Trump over a re-reversal on ICE raids, even questioning whether Trump is actually in charge of his own White House.

“Come on Mr. President, you’re the one the American people elected not Stephen Miller. He doesn’t have a compassionate bone in his body. The problem of immigration can’t be solved with hate,” Rivera wrote in a Tuesday post in reaction to news that Homeland Security is reversing guidance recently issued stating that immigration raids at worksites and farms would be temporarily suspended.

The Washington Post was first to report on the new guidance being reversed this week, with ICE getting the greenlight to continue worksite raids.
