While Waltz’s inadvertent addition of a journalist to a Signal group chat discussing military plans reportedly triggered the final decision, two sources told the Post that Trump had been frustrated with Waltz over foreign policy for months.

President Donald Trump’s remodeling of the Oval Office, which includes a vast amount of gold fixtures covering everything from portraits to curtain rods to even the ceiling, is being compared to a notorious Middle Eastern dictator who was famously a big fan of gold.

Users on X responded to a picture of the Oval Office saying the decor looked like it was “courtesy of the Sadam Hussein home collection.”

One user posted comparison photos of Trump’s various properties over the years next to photos of Hussein’s palace writing “There is indeed a strange and remarkable similarity between the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump and the late Iraqi President Saddam Hussein when it comes to luxurious interior designs.”

Trump has long been compared to many dictators around the world, in more ways than just his choice of decor. He famously said during his campaign for president that if elected he’d be a “dictator on day one.”

Trump is fundamentally incapable of governing. That’s the theme that unites everything.

Some Democrats fear they’re playing into Trump’s hands by fighting his mass deportations rather than focusing on his failures on bread-and-butter issues like the cost of living.

But it’s not either-or. The theme that unites Trump’s inept handling of deportations, his trampling on human and civil rights, his rejection of the rule of law, his dictatorial centralization of power, and his utterly inept handling of the economy is the ineptness itself.

In his first term, not only did his advisers and Cabinet officials put guardrails around his crazier tendencies, but they also provided his first administration a degree of stability and focus. Now, it’s mayhem.

Trump administration revokes humanitarian parole of local teacher

Vanegas and his family moved to the U.S. 10 months ago on humanitarian parole, a Biden-era program that gives individuals temporary legal status for urgent humanitarian reasons or for significant public benefit.

Vanegas, who taught high schoolers in Nicaragua for 15 years, now works three part time jobs. He teaches Spanish at two grade schools, including one in Prince George’s County, and at Howard University.

Last month, he received notice his parole was being revoked and he and his family needed to leave by April 25.

“How can I get a solution about this situation in a short period of time?” Vanegas said. “That is something that I, that we have been thinking about and it’s been something that is difficult, you know.”

President Donald Trump appears to have had a change of heart about the United States taking over Canada, claiming that Americans “don’t need anything” from their northern neighbor.

Despite his repeated assertions that the sprawling, resource-rich country should become America’s 51st state, the president told reporters on Air Force One Sunday that the “golden age” is coming, sans Canada. “We have our own lumber and energy,” he said, referencing slated plans for levies on wood from north of the border. “We don’t need energy from Canada. We don’t need lumber from Canada. We don’t need anything from Canada. I believe this will be the golden age of America,” he added.

Last week, Trump spoke over the phone with the new Canadian prime minister, Mark Carney. Despite the ongoing trade war, the call was “very constructive,” Carney said. He added that Trump “respected Canada’s sovereignty” during the chat.

However, despite the apparent softening of hostilities, Trump launched the latest salvo in his trade war Wednesday, announcing a 25 percent tariff on auto imports beginning April 2.
