Fort Worth Star-Telegram: Major Increase in Non-Criminal Detainees by ICE

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has reported an 800% rise in non-criminal detainees since President Donald Trump took office, reaching a record 51,302 by early June. Only 30% of those detained were convicted criminals. The data suggests immigration enforcement is increasingly targeting non-criminal offenses, which has fueled criticism from Democratic leaders.

Former ICE Director Sarah Saldaña said, “This push on numbers — exclusive of whether or not the job is being done right — is very concerning.”

Saldaña added, “You’re going to have people who are being pushed to the limit, who in a rush may not get things right, including information on a person’s status.”

After Trump took office, the number of non-criminal detainees rose sharply to 7,781. Presently, only four in ten individuals detained by ICE are convicted criminals, marking a 20 percent decline since January.

ICE operations have remained largely under the radar as enforcement has ramped up under the Trump administration. Internal records show only 10% of detainees were convicted of serious crimes, raising concerns about misclassification.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram: ICE Reports Major Arrest — Slams Biden-Era Decision

An ICE spokesperson said, “This criminal alien should never have been roaming the streets of Los Angeles. Not only is he a member of the ruthless Surenos gang, but he also has multiple convictions for murder, assault, and rape or sexual abuse of a minor.”

Wow! Golly gee! You finally caught one of the 6% of real criminals that you are supposed to be catching!

Roberto Carlos Munoz-Guatemala, with a history of sex crimes and assault, was arrested after dragging an ICE officer while fleeing in his vehicle.

And a rapist, too. So far you caught only 11% of them.

If you actually concentrated on catching the murderers and rapists instead of masking up and disappearing families from the streets and neighborhods, you wouldn’t have such a godawful PR problem. Unfortunately, like most pigs, you’re too stupid to learn.

Fort-Worth Star Telegram: New Policy Delivers Major Blow to ICE

The Arlington, VA County Board has limited local police interactions with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by removing Sections 7 and 8 of the county’s “Trust Policy.” This policy change aims to encourage immigrant communities to seek emergency assistance without fear.

Fort-Worth Star Telegram: ‘My Head is Spinning’: Deportation Draws Backlash

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis has warned the Trump administration about its handling of Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s case, a Salvadoran national mistakenly deported to El Salvador. Key officials have admitted ignorance about crucial details in court proceedings, raising concerns about compliance with the judge’s order to facilitate Abrego Garcia’s return. Xinis has reportedly set a new compliance deadline and scheduled an in-person hearing.

Xinis said, “Evidently missing from the defendants’ filing is the privilege log that this court ordered to be produced.” She added, “Failure to file the privilege log or otherwise respond will be construed as an intentional refusal to comply with this court’s orders.”

Xinis said, “You haven’t complied, and you haven’t in bad faith.”

Xinis has identified officials’ ignorance as noncompliance with her order to produce witnesses with direct knowledge of Abrego Garcia’s situation.

…Xinis stated, “The whole reason we’re here is because I’ve said repeatedly you’ve done nothing, and now you tell the world you’re not going to do anything.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram: ‘We Are Not Ignoring the Law’: DHS Responds to Detainments

A 19-year-old college student from Georgia remained in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody following her arrest during a traffic stop. Ximena Arias-Cristobal was detained in Georgia when her dark truck was mistakenly identified as a vehicle linked to an illegal turn. Although all charges against her were dropped after a review of dash cam footage, her immigration status has remained in question. On May 21, she was granted a bond, allowing her release to her family. She reportedly still faces potential deportation to Mexico as ICE has initiated proceedings.

Despite the dismissal of charges, Arias-Cristobal remains in ICE custody, having lived in Whitfield County since she was four. City officials, including the city administrator and prosecuting attorney, have confirmed the error and informed Arias-Cristobal’s legal team.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram: Pam Bondi’s Massive Stock Trade Sparks Ethical Concern

Attorney General Pam Bondi reportedly sold shares in Trump Media & Technology Group valued between $1 million and $5 million on the same day President Donald Trump announced significant tariffs on global trade. The announcement during a press conference called “Liberation Day” included baseline tariffs on most imports and specific tariffs, such as a 20% rate on the European Union. The news led to a drop of over 10% in Trump Media’s stock, sparking concerns about the ethical implications of Bondi’s actions.

While it remains unclear whether Bondi sold her shares before or after Trump’s announcement, Trump Media registered its top shareholders, including Bondi and Trump, with the Securities and Exchange Commission the day before the sale. The exact connection to her transaction remains uncertain.

Eventually all of this pond scum will be locked up.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram: ‘Anti-Woke’ Order: Military Members Face Self-Separation Deadline

Transgender service members in the military have a 30 to 60-day deadline to self-separate after a court order reinstated a ban on their service. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that about 1,000 service members with gender dysphoria are starting the voluntary separation process. Active-duty personnel must separate by June 6, while reservists have until July 7 to comply with the new policy.

Despite the deadline, there are ongoing legal challenges and court orders. There could be further judicial interventions that alters the timeline.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram: Two-Year-Old U.S. Citizen’s Deportation Sparks Hearing: ‘Unconstitutional’

A federal judge has ordered a hearing on the alleged unlawful deportation of a 2-year-old U.S. citizen. District Judge Terry Doughty expressed concerns about the circumstances of the child’s removal and the government’s alleged failure to protect her rights. Doughty noted that the child’s mother intended to take them back to Honduras, providing a handwritten note as proof.

Doughty said, “VML is ostensibly a two-year-old United States citizen. On April 24, 2025, this Court received a Petition contending that VML was being deported, alongside her illegal-immigrant mother, to Honduras.”

However, the judge questioned the identities of those advocating for the child and found that the government could not verify the mother’s claim.

Doughty stated that U.S. citizens cannot be deported, raising significant implications for parental rights and the rights of citizen children. He scheduled a hearing to clarify the situation and examine the legality of V.M.L.’s deportation.

Doughty said, “Of course, ‘It is illegal and unconstitutional to deport, detain for deportation, or recommend deportation of a U.S. citizen.’”

Doughty added, “The Government contends that this is all okay because the mother wishes that the child be deported with her. But the Court doesn’t know that.”

Fort Worth Star-Telegram: ‘Rigged System’: GOP Senators Thwart Nominee After Defying Trump

President Donald Trump pulled his nomination of Ed Martin for U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C. The White House was working to secure his nomination despite declining support from some Republican senators.

Instead, Trump plans for Martin to be an associate deputy attorney general and pardon attorney. Martin will likely recommend pardons for defendants involved in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021. In this photo gallery, we review the defiance from Republican senators.

Martin’s nomination ran into significant hurdles, including his failure to disclose nearly 200 media appearances. He claimed under oath that he could not recall controversial statements, raising concerns among GOP senators.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) said, “Last Friday, we received responses from Mr. Martin to our questions, and it raised even more questions. Mr. Martin made a number of false statements and contradictory statements that are easily disproven by the material he himself disclosed in his Senate Judiciary Questionnaire. And it wasn’t just to my questions—it was to Chairman Grassley’s questions as well.”

So Trump pulls a nomination for a douchebag crony to be U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., but still plans to give him a job as an associate deputy attorney general despite several red flags regarding his honesty and ethics.

Yup, sounds like what King Donald would do!

Ft. Worth Star Telegram: ‘Null and Void’: Judge Strikes Down Executive Order

A U.S. federal judge recently ruled that Executive Order 14230, which targeted law firm Perkins Coie LLP, is unconstitutional. Judge Beryl A. Howell of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued the ruling in the case Perkins Coie LLP v. U.S. Department of Justice, et al. The court has granted Perkins Coie’s Motion for Summary Judgment, permanently blocking the enforcement of the executive order.

The court declared the executive order “null and void,” invalidating restrictions that stripped security clearances from Perkins Coie lawyers and halted their dealings with the government. The U.S. Department of Justice, the primary defendant, attempted to dismiss the lawsuit, claiming the executive order was valid, but the court rejected this argument.
