CBS News: RFK Jr. releases report on childhood chronic disease. Here’s what to know.

The White House’s “Make America Healthy Again” or “MAHA” commission, led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has published its first report on what it says are four leading drivers of childhood chronic disease.

“The report is the product of a consensual process, and it represents a collaborative effort of all the agencies and the White House. And it represents a consensus that is probably the strongest and most radical consensus by a government agency in history about the state of America’s health,” Kennedy told reporters in a call ahead of its release.

Who’s going to take advice on our children’s health from a moron who takes his grandchildren swimming in a sewage-contaminated creek where swimming is banned for public health reasons? A moron who’s had brain worms likely because he eats bush meat and road kill?

Latin Times: Mexican President Welcomes Tax Cut On Remittances For Migrants, Vows to Keep Fighting

Trump’s proposed 5% tax on remittances was lowered to just 3.5% by the Senate, Sheinbaum said

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said that the U.S. lowered its proposed tax on remittances from 5% to 3.5%, but that officials will continue working to lower it further.

During her daily press conference on Thursday, Sheinbaum welcomed a move by U.S. lawmakers to reduce the proposed tax rate to 3.5%, but said she would keep pushing for its full elimination. She argued that the tax would harm not just Mexico, but many countries in the region and beyond.

The tax is a total disgrace. It mostly will hurt poor poeple / lower income earners in the U.S. who are trying to help even poorer members of their families overseas. This tax will be paid on top of the income and social security taxes that have already been paid on the amounts being remitted.

Business Insider: A judge blocks Trump’s plans to abolish the Department of Education, fire workers, and transfer student loans

  • President Trump signed an executive order Thursday seeking to dismantle the Department of Education.
  • The department has faced opposition since its initial establishment — and prompt closure — in 1867.
  • Concerns of government overreach and unnecessary spending have fueled opponents throughout history.

President Trump signed an executive order to start eliminating the Department of Education on Thursday, though he needs congressional approval before it can actually shutter.

Meanwhile King Donald and his sycophants are not above abusing the Department of Education as a bully pulpit to harass universities to support their anti-diversity and anti-transgender agendas.

Salon: Kristi [Bimbo #2] Noem’s proud MAGA bimbo act builds on the legacy of Sarah Palin

Does Kristi [Bimbo #2] Noem know what habeas corpus is? One thing we know for certain: She would very much like Americans to believe she does not. On Tuesday, the head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) used a Senate hearing to insist the legal term means the opposite of its actual definition. “Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country and suspend their right to,” [Bimbo #2] Noem said through her unnervingly Botox-inflated lips. She was interrupted by Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., who explained to a smug-looking [Bimbo #2] Noem that, no, habeas corpus “requires that the government provide a public reason for detaining and imprisoning people” and is the reason it’s illegal for Donald Trump to round up immigrants and imprison them in foreign gulags without offering a legal reason why.

There was much mockery of [Bimbo #2] Noem for being so dumb in mainstream and left-leaning media, but notably, neither [Bimbo #2] Noem nor her allies have shown any shame or defensiveness about her alleged mistake. Whether [Bimbo #2] Noem comes by her confusion honestly or she was just play-acting, she’s there to play the role of the proud MAGA bimbo, in the grand tradition of figures like Sarah Palin.

The MAGA bimbo isn’t just ignorant. She’s contemptuous of people who actually know what they’re talking about, especially if those facts-laden human beings are fellow women.

New Republic: Karoline [Bimbo #1] Leavitt Melts Down Over Blocked South Sudan Deportations

White House Press Secretary Karoline [Bimbo #1] Leavitt delivered a tirade Thursday against a federal judge who ruled against Donald Trump’s illegal deportations to South Sudan.

During a press briefing, [Bimbo #1] Leavitt railed against U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy of Massachusetts, who ruled Wednesday that the Trump administration had provided “plainly insufficient” notice to several third-country nationals before deporting them to South Sudan, which is in the midst of violence and political unrest. As a result, the migrants are being held at a U.S. naval base in Djibouti.

Deporting people to third countries, especially to a war-torn sh*th*l* like South Sudan, is beyond inhumane. How are people with no connection to the country, who in most cases (probably all cases) don’t know the language, going to survive and have any semblance of a decent life?

Karoline [Bimbo #1] Leavitt: You’re a cruel, dumb, stupid, ignorant, arrogant bimbo bitch!

Associated Press: Organizations sue Justice Department to reverse hundreds of grant cancellations

Five organizations that had grants terminated by the Justice Department in April are suing the department and Attorney General Pam [Bimbo #3] Bondi, arguing that the cancellations are unconstitutional and asking that the money be reinstated.

The lawsuit, filed late Wednesday by the Vera Institute of Justice, the Center for Children & Youth Justice, Chinese for Affirmative Action, FORCE Detroit and Health Resources in Action, asks a federal judge in the nation’s capital to “declare unlawful, vacate and set aside” the cancellations that were sent to more than 360 awardees ending grants worth nearly $820 million midstream.

The lawsuit argues that the grant terminations did not allow due process to the organizations, lacked sufficient clarity, and that Henneberg’s office lacked “constitutional, statutory, and regulatory authority” to terminate the grants. The lawyers also argue that the move violated the constitutional separation of powers clause that gives Congress appropriation powers.

The lawsuit notes that all the grant recipients that had money rescinded received the same form letter announcing the cancellation, with identical words saying the grant programs no longer met the agency’s priorities.

Lawyers argue in the lawsuit that the new agency priorities noted in the form letter are not articulated in policy or law, and that federal regulations do not allow for cancellations when the agency’s priorities change “post-award.” They said the rule only allows for cancellations of grants that no longer meet the agency’s goals as stated when the grants were awarded.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram: ‘We Are Not Ignoring the Law’: DHS Responds to Detainments

A 19-year-old college student from Georgia remained in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody following her arrest during a traffic stop. Ximena Arias-Cristobal was detained in Georgia when her dark truck was mistakenly identified as a vehicle linked to an illegal turn. Although all charges against her were dropped after a review of dash cam footage, her immigration status has remained in question. On May 21, she was granted a bond, allowing her release to her family. She reportedly still faces potential deportation to Mexico as ICE has initiated proceedings.

Despite the dismissal of charges, Arias-Cristobal remains in ICE custody, having lived in Whitfield County since she was four. City officials, including the city administrator and prosecuting attorney, have confirmed the error and informed Arias-Cristobal’s legal team.

Knewz: Another U.S. Citizen Mistakenly Told to Self-Deport

Boston immigration attorney Nicole Micheroni received a surprising email last month from the Department of Homeland Security ordering her to self-deport immediately. The email said DHS was ending her parole and told her to leave the country, even though she holds a U.S. passport and birth certificate. Micheroni has held a U.S. passport and birth certificate and has been legally allowed to remain in the country.

Other immigration attorneys have reported receiving similar erroneous notices. Micheroni stated, “It took me a couple of minutes to realize it was sent to me instead of someone I represent.”

These mistaken emails raise concern among U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and visa holders about possible wrongful enforcement. Micheroni said, “It’s meant to be an intimidation tactic to get people to leave the country.”

Raw Story: Shameful’: MAGA observers melt down over Supreme Court’s new ruling

MAGA advocates staged a meltdown on social media after news broke that the U.S. Supreme Court failed to reach a decision in favor of allowing taxpayers to pay for a religious charter school in Oklahoma.

The court tied 4-4 Thursday, with one conservative justice siding with liberals.

Newsweek: Harvard graduate self-deports to Mexico

A Harvard graduate has self-deported to Mexico alongside his husband amid fears about President Donald Trump‘s immigration crackdown.

Francisco Hernandez-Corona, 34, and his United States citizen husband, Irving Hernandez-Corona, decided to leave the country because the federal government ramped up immigration enforcement, NBC10 Boston reported.

The couple traveled to Mexico’s west coast, arriving in Puerto Vallarta three weeks ago.

“We started seeing ICE everywhere and people sent to El Salvador,” said Francisco.

“There would be knocks at the door and [Francisco] would be scared and be terrified,” said Irving. “It was never our intention to leave under these circumstances. We left, basically fleeing.”

Francisco came to the U.S. when he was 10, sent by his father to cross the border with the help of a coyote. He described the journey through the desert as “the worst three days of my life,” adding, “Nobody asked me if this is what I want to do. I didn’t have a choice.”
